Recently, the Wade-O Radio Show celebrated its 200th episode. That was a huge milestone and accomplishment. Shout out to the whole TWORS family! Wade, this is an awesome ministry! Continue to keep the faith as you hard for the kingdom! This 200th episode is a big deal, not just in ministry, but in general. It isn’t daily you are able to find consistency for 200 weeks straight especially in the body of Christ. Honestly, this Christian journey is one of the hardest things to be involved in. Tell the truth and admit to yourself that sin is easy. Point blank period! You don’t have to think twice about lying, cussing, lusting, and gossiping. But as a Christian that is being molded into the likeness of Christ, you have to show love, forgive, pray, run from temptation, and daily die to self. Having said all of that, when was the last time you celebrated a milestone in Christ?
Everyone likes being rewarded for doing something good. You give a dog a treat when he sits or stand on command. You clap for a toddler that knows their ABCs. But as a Christian, do you celebrate milestones? Do you celebrate when you consistently read your Word daily? Are you excited when you find accountability partners? Do you ‘throw a party’ when you are able to deny temptation? If you answered “No” to those, is it because those milestones don’t exist or because you don’t celebrate them? Take some time to evaluate your walk in Christ. Of course, we aren’t supposed to say ‘Yay, I haven’t cussed in 10 days, I have earned a pass for 1 day.’ But you should be able to say ‘Thank God I am changing my language. God continue to give me strength.’ Paul says that a Christian should grow from a baby to an adult and this growth is seen by a change of diet from milk to meat. (Hebrews 5:13-14)
As Christians, we know “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Cor. 5:17 NIV). Why don’t we celebrate this new creature? We used to celebrate in the world when we would live a life of sin. Don’t get deep on me now! You know you would be excited when a friend would get 5 numbers in 1 night, ya’ll exceeded visiting 3 clubs on a Friday night, you cussed out 3 people and fought 1 in a day. Those things used to get us hype. By why don’t we get hype when we offer our bodies as living sacrifices (Rom. 12:1), grow in patience (Ps. 27:14), forgive (Eph. 4:31-32), have pure thoughts (Phil. 4:8), love God and one another (Luke 10:27)? Don’t be tardy for the party! I’m going to celebrate my growth in Christ as I celebrate others as well! You may not be where you want to be in your spiritual walk, but praise God you aren’t where you used to be. Keep pushing! I’m celebrating with you.
