PRESS RELEASE STATEMENT:
PHILADELPHIA, PA (December 22, 2014)–In a world where the commercialization of Christmas is commonplace, Lamp Mode’s Hazakim is shifting the focus back to Jesus Christ—the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Their new holiday single “Glory,” featuring label mate Timothy Brindle, available today as a free download, admonishes listeners to set their gaze upon the Savior to whom all praise belongs.
The special release is an appreciation gift both for the support of brothers Mike and Tony Wray’s Billboard Top 10 charting album, Son of Man, and their ministry in general.
“Glory,” with its lyrical fluency and wordplay, samples Bing Crosby’s “Pat A Pan/While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night,” putting a Holy Hip Hop spin on the classic medley.
Produced by Tony, one-half of the brother duo, on it, Mike raps, “Jehovah, brighter than Supernovas—we’re not stars/ He gets the glory, end of the story—It’s not ours!”
Setting the public’s gaze upon Christ alone has always been and will remain the mission of the Messianic Jewish rappers.
In case that isn’t clear, in the opening verse, Hazakim directly addresses those who believe they should be more “introspective and honest” and “focus less on who God is.”
Their response is succinct: “Connect with the rapper, at best, you’ll bob your head/ Connect with the Master whose breath revives the dead!”
