first experience with christian hip hop feat KB

As part of Sketch the Journalist’s “CHH 101” series of posts for about the history of the gospel rap movement, he’ll be sharing video interviews he’s conducted with some of the genre’s top names about their first experience with Christian hip hop.

To kick things off, you’ll hear directly from Reach Records’ KB about the albums and artists that influenced his faith and desire to spread the gospel through hip hop.

KB’s First Experience:

KB actually appears in an early video from Mynista aka Docta Wuzdead.

Mynista tells us this clip for “Hurricane” was released in 2006 or 2007.

Look for KB in the black Dickie shirt with a long white tee under it. (1:35 mark)

Suzy Rock was also a part of the crew around this time too.

Back then, she went by the name “Lady Life” and can also be seen in the background of this video.

What was your first experience with Christian Hip Hop?
