PRESS RELEASE STATEMENT:
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) October 29, 2014– After Joshua Wann handed over the reins of Lamp Mode to Jason “Json” Watson in early 2014, the newly minted boss shared his plans to give the veteran Christian rap label a major overhaul.
In keeping with his promise, the forward-thinking leader made a historic move by adding award-winning urban faith-based media specialist, Dianna Hobbs—the brand’s first ever female executive staff member—to the team.
“Lamp Mode is really excited to add Mrs. Hobbs to our team. Upon meeting her, it became clear that she shares the same heart and burden to make much of Jesus in the culture,” said Watson in a statement.
He continued, “Dianna has been awesome to work with. She’s already brought a lot to the table that we’re benefiting from and that the public will benefit from in the future.”
Expressing her thoughts about the new relationship, Hobbs said, “Jason is an amazing visionary with a real focus on strategically sharing the Gospel. He, Josh and the entire team have been incredibly gracious and welcoming, allowing me the liberty to bring a new perspective and method to such a respected and established organization.”
The Upstate New York-based media maven added, “Being a part of the Lamp Mode family truly feels like home to me, because we have a mutual commitment to glorifying God in all our endeavors.”
Named one of the “70 Most Influential Black Christian History-Makers” by Black Christian News Network, for more than a decade, Hobbs has been infusing a Christ-focused message into mainstream media. Her brand-building prowess has earned her numerous accolades, as well as a lengthy client list comprising global industry leaders like Thomas Nelson, Lionsgate, Verizon, McDonald’s, BET and many others.
Said Watson, “The team calls her Lamp Mode’s First Lady. We’re excited. Soon, those connected to us will see her impact on the company.”
