It is wise to seek God and lay out your vision plainly. Habakkuk 2:2 says “Write the vision, and make it plain.” This means to write down the goals and dreams you would like to accomplish. It may be as small as praying for 30 minutes everyday or as big as building a house. Of course, you cannot think that if you want a more forgiving heart or more self-control, it will all come about magically the next day. Habakkuk 2:3 says “Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.” Make your prayers specific. He knows the desires of your heart and will give you them if you first delight in Him. (Ps. 37:4)
Don’t be afraid to make plain what you are asking God for. Don’t just make a to-do list for today and stop. Seek God, find out His plan for your life (Prov. 3:5-6). Align your will with God’s will then plan your work, and work your plan! You cannot take a test if you haven’t studied, then pray really hard for a miracle. You work in the natural, and let God handle the supernatural.
