Eshon Burgundy Signs With Humble Beast
Eshon Burgundy isn’t just joining Humble Beast for the Raise the Banner Tour.
The Philadelphia-bred hip-hop artist has signed with Braille and Odd Thomas’ record label based out of Portland, Ore. Burgundy will join Beautiful Eulogy, Propaganda, Theory Hazit, Alert312 and more on one of the most respected teams in the Christian hip-hop subgenre.
Burgundy developed a reputation as top-notch lyricist through a series of mixtapes which included “Blood Bought,” “The Fire Escape” and “Cleaning Out My Closet.” He released his long-awaited debut album, “Blood Rushing To My Head,” this past summer and lived up to every bit of hype he had garnered. In November, Wade-O Radio ranked him as third-best lyricist in Christian hip hop.
Humble Beast is a unique record label in that it offers all of its music for free. Given that Burgundy has also offered the vast majority of his music for free on Bandcamp, his philosophy of ministry through music matches Braille and company’s.
“Over the last few months Humble Beast has had the privilege of getting to know Eshon Burgundy and his unique heart for ministry. It’s very rare to find someone so talented with such a Christ centered, humble and service oriented posture. His philosophy of ministry and commitment to radical generosity makes him the perfect fit for Humble Beast.“
Humble Beast also released the following video to provide background on Eshon to those who aren’t familiar with him:
