Eminem and Yelawolf Call God Their “Best Friend” In New Single

Shady Records artist Yelawolf released a new song today entitled “Best Friend” featuring the best selling rapper of all time, Eminem. The song is rumored to be a single off Yelawolf’s upcoming album Love Story.

To our knowledge, neither artist has publicly claimed to be a Christian, but in the song both emcees speak about having a friendship with God, especially during hard times. Below are the lyrics for the hook, sung by Yelawolf:

To the father son and holy spirit
I hold you nearest
My best friend, best friend
Let the trumpets blow with your appearance
I can almost hear it
My best friend, best friend
When you wish me Hell upon my soul and spirit
Behold these lyrics
I got a best friend, best friend
Yeah, I got a best friend, best friend, yeah

Yelawolf continues to rap about the topic throughout the rest of the song, and Eminem closes out the song talking about going to God for help when he is attacked by fake friends, critics, and enemies.

Are the Shady emcees sincere in their new friendship with God? Biblical references have become commonplace in secular hip-hop, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t moving in the hearts of artists. Please pray that God works in Yelawolf and Eminem to make these new lyrics a physical reality in their daily lives.
