Do Your Job!

Do your job! People always want to know “What am I supposed to do now that I’m saved?” We all have a job you know. Sometimes our methods are different but our purpose is the same. Once we have accepted God’s gift of salvation, and we’ve moved past the milk of the Word to the meat, we begin our search for a job. Everyone isn’t called to rap, sing, or preach. Some are purposed to be mentors/counselors, bank-tellers, caregivers, mechanics, managers, and teachers. Either way it goes, we all have the same job to do: bring others to Christ (the Great Commission- Matthew 28:18-20.)

Some of us wait on the huge opportunity to be able to speak to our church congregation while overlooking our co-worker we see on a daily basis or not sharing a Scripture with our roommates. I have been guilty of this myself. Looking to only edify fellow members of the faith, but not addressing the fact that there are still those who are lost and don’t know Christ. Remember Jesus said, “They that are whole have no need of a physician.” (Mark 2:17) How many times have we given medicine to someone that is considered ‘healthy’?

Let’s make a conscious effort to spread the Gospel, not with only those we ‘think’ need it, but also with the people we come into contact with. You never know who has and has not heard the good news. We are laborers in this field. What kind of farmer doesn’t sweat while working the ground? Let’s get out there into the mission field, work up a sweat from teaching others the Gospel, and do our jobs!

Signing out,
