During this year’s Legacy Conference, DJ Wade-O caught up with hip-hop artists Swoope of Collision Records and Propaganda of Humble Beast Records. Both artists told him that they’re currently working on albums set to release sometime next year.
Swoope told DJ Wade-O that Collision will close out this year by dropping two albums, one from Alex Faith and the other from Christon Gray.
Releasing Gray’s album by the end of the year may be the label’s goal, but Collision CEO Adam Thomason told David Daniels of Wade-O Radio that the project would drop by early next year.
Swoope claimed his own album, set to come out next year, will be one to keep an eye out for.
“What I kept hearing about ‘Wake Up’ was, ‘I felt like I could see what you’re talking about,’ he told Wade-O. “We’re taking that feeling that people had with ‘Wake Up’ and magnifying it by 10,000 for this next record.”
Expect his lyricism and colorful storytelling to continue to shine on his next album like his label debut “Wake Up.”
Propaganda is also working on an album which is set to be released next year.
This project will be produced by Odd Thomas and will be dealing with the idea of contentment.
“I really want to articulate our times and the things that we’ve been through,” Propaganda told Wade-O. “Contentment and just seeing the Lord’s hand in everyday situations. Where there aren’t necessarily huge miracles, but it doesn’t mean he’s not present. To really kind of help you help someone else understand the place they’re in now and the place that they might be going in the future. So I really want to talk about that; like discerning the time.”
Next year’s album releases are sure to be worth the wait.
