Andy Mineo & Dee-1 to appear on BET’s 2014 Hip Hop Awards Cypher
BET recently announced the lineup for the 2014 Hip Hop Awards Cypher.
The cypher is a notable and coveted position on the Hip Hop Awards, as several mainstream acts have been featured in it. The cypher is a highlight of artists from both the mainstream and independent spectrums.
This year, the cypher will include Reach Records artist Andy Mineo and New Orleans native Dee-1. The cypher will also include mainstream artists such as Remy Ma, Papoose, Treach (Naughty by Nature), David Banner, Wiz Kahlifa, Juicy J, Lil Mama, and many others.
This is not the first time Andy Mineo and Dee-1 are appearing on a mainstream network cypher, as they were both featured in MTV’s RapFix Live Cypher in December 2013.
Reach Records artist and Co-founder Lecrae, was the first Christian Hip hop artist to be featured in the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher in 2011. The GRAMMY-Award winning artist is also nominated this year for “Impact Track”, for his song “Nuthin”, off of his seventh-studio album Anomaly. He is up against Common’s “Kingdom”, Lupe Fiasco’s “Mission”, The Roots’ “Never”, and Talib Kweli’s “State of Grace.” Last year, Lecrae was nominated for “Best Gospel Album” but lost to Mary Mary.
The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards will be held Tuesday, October 14 at 8 p.m. ET., and is hosted by Uncle Snoop.
