Tamara Young is a prolific talent that you should get to know. She has worn several hats over the years, having had experience working in FM Radio, TV, digital copyrighting, marketing, and stage production. She has been associated with CHH since 2012 and is the founder of ArtSoul Radio in Chicago – which has be nominated for a Stellar Award. Along with her founding role for ArtSoul Radio, she has also served as the Director/Co-Director and Executive Producer for a variety of video productions.

Young has a deep arts background in illustration, design, photography and music. She started her career in radio working for Clear Channel and WZFS-FM 106.7 The Fish, and then worked with other media and entertainment companies such as TLN (Total Living Network), Discovery Channel, and TLC.

Through Young’s various media endeavors, she has gained experience as an artist relations manager, handling booking for artists/speakers, and event production. Some of her other previous works include being the booking manager for Thirteen 47 Cafe – a Chicago CHH event showcase by Decipha and Legacy – booking artists in both Gospel and CHH, booking the Queens United Tour, Angie Rose’s ‘Unstoppable Tour’, and helping promote the first PIA tour in Chicago via ArtSoul.

Along with founding ArtSoul Radio, Young is also the founder of Cover Them With Love, a non-profit organization reaching homeless youth in Chicago since 2010. She has also founded ArtSoul Radio’s youth mentorship program, where not only do they aid in their spiritual growth, but they “give youth who are not of working age the opportunity to gain experience and knowledge that can translate into whatever industry they find themselves” contributing to in the future.

In addition to all of her work in the music industry, Young is also an established journalist, who has been featured in JET Magazine and Blavity. She has conducted interviews for video, radio and print with entertainers, film-makers, entrepreneurs and more. Young has had the opportunity to interview many high-profile names like DeVon Franklin, Meagan Good, Richard Lee Brooks, Beverley Evans, Michelle Williams, Dr. Holly Carter, Jonathan McReynolds, The Walls Group, DJ Wade-O, Dhaiti Lewis, Alex Faith, Propaganda, KB, and more.

In the TV and Film industry, Young has also contributed there, having worked on the set of films such as TLC’s “Secret Santa” and “Death Wish” featuring Bruce Willis. Young’s work does not stop in entertainment as she has also worked for Metro-Chicago Youth For Christ doing campus ministry with high schoolers in the Chicagoland area, and servering as a teacher for teens and college youth for over 5 years – working with a ministry doing work in the Chicago Cook County Detention Center.

Tamara Young is passionate about evangelism, ministry, CHH and the artists that she comes alongside to help promote, as she is an advocate for other creatives.
